Performs diversified coordinative and clerical duties supporting the functional and/or operational needs of the department Job Responsibility Coordinates the flow of patients being admitted to the facility; assesses and intervenes when delays are identified related to admission paperwork, bed turnover and patient transport.
Greets patients and/or visitors to the department in a courteous manner.
Interviews residents/significant others to obtain all relevant demographic and insurance data; obtains necessary signatures on required forms; enters all pre-admission and admission information into department computer system.
Provides interpretation of regulations to residents (i.
e.
, visiting hours, resident services, Bill of Rights, etc.
).
Ensures completed charts accompany patients upon admission.
Serves as a liaison between admitting, nursing stations, patient transport, and medical records to facilitate optimal patient flow.
Responds to patient/family complaints as they relate to the admissions and discharge processes.
Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes.
Participates in developing and delivering training related to operations.
Performs related duties as required.
